Fall Cleaning Tips
These are the three Big Fall Jobs to do as the season begins 1. Clean the Carpets- According to the carpet cleaning experts, you should clean your carpets every 6-18 months, depending on traffic. If you do this once a year, fall is the perfect time! Its a great time to get everything clean before your holiday gatherings. Most carpet cleaning businesses offer a special deal where they will come back and take care of any stain within a few months period. This way in case you get a stain during Thanksgiving, you can get it cleaned before Christmas. Also, make sure they professionally vacuum your carpets before cleaning. 2. Clean the Attic- When the weather cools down its the best time to get up there and clean out the dust and mildew in the attic. All you have to do is vacuum the attic starting with the ceiling and working your way down. This might be hard for some, so you might want to hire someone professionally to do it for you. The benefit is it will increase the air quality in the whole house. Remember, wear a dust mask and protective eye wear while cleaning the attic, especially if you have never cleaned it before. 3. Clean the Chandeliers and Light Fixtures- Fall is the best time to clean the chandeliers and light fixtures. You are probably going to have people over for the holidays and let's face it, this is the only time you will really notice your dirty light fixtures. When cleaning a chandelier, leave it where it is and use a step ladder to reach it. Use a damp cloth or two cotton gloves-one damp and one dry- to clean the chandeliers. Then when cleaning light fixtures, detach the globes and soak them while you are cleaning the rest of the room. Rinse and wipe them clean and replace them when you are done. You will notice a change immediately in the lighting of your home!
